How I Met Your Mother & Grassroots

How I Met Your Mother is back, and Cobie Smulders (Clair in GRASSROOTS) shines as the beautiful and hilarious, Robin Sherbatsky. The show kicked off it’s 6th season two weeks ago and the mystery continues to drive viewers to place their bets as to who the infamous “mother” is. The show features the adventures of Ted (played by Josh Radnor) and his best friends; including the womanizer, Barney, played by Emmy  award winning, Neil Patrick Harris, Marshal (Jason Segel), his fiancé, Lilly (Alyson Hannigan) and of course, GRASSROOTS own Cobie Smulders as his former love interest, Robin.

HIMYM unites mystery and humor as the narrator (Ted in the future, voiced by Bob Saget) tells his children stories back in the mid 2000’s, before they were born. The humor stems from his adventures as a single man and the journey of how he met their mother. The mystery is that he never divulges the identity of their “mother” causing fans to check back each episode for clues that slowly trickle in about Ted’s future wife’s identity. Who does he end up with? Is it one of the characters we’ve already grown to love? Is it someone we haven’t met yet? Here’s what we do know: She owns a yellow umbrella, she is the roommate of a woman he had a date with, Ted’s her teacher, and finally, the season premiere let us in one another vital clue, he met her in a wedding where he served as the best man. What else do we know? It’s going to be fun watching Cobie’s performance each week and trying to figure it out! And you thought you had to wait for the release of GRASSROOTS to see her!

Cobie’s performance in last week’s episode was especially brilliant. Her character, Robin was seen post break up still licking her wounds. After a few too many drinks with her cell phone in hand, she sees her ex on a Chicago news station. The job that was originally offered to her!
